27-28.5.2011 Mikko Pajunen finished second on British tarmac

The Finn was very pleased with the result

Mikko Pajunen finished second in the R2-class in the British Rally
Championship event over the weekend. The tarmac rally, which took its
name from the rally legend Jim Clark, was long and demanding. Pajunen,
who drives in Renault Twingo, made no mistakes and was very happy with
the result.

- It was alright. I haven?t had a problem-free rally for about a year.
I prefer it like this, told Pajunen.

Pajunen and his co-driver Jani Salo were 1.09 minutes behind the
winner Alistair Fisher over 16 stages.

- In the beginning we tried to challenge him but soon we realised it
was impossible in these conditions. Then we just took it easy and made
sure we?d finish and get the championship points. I?m pretty happy,
apart from some minor problems with the breaks. I had to step on the
pedal so hard my foot is hurting, said Pajunen.

Next in line for Pajunen in some testing in Finland next week.
Afterwards he takes part in the fifth Finnish Championship event in
Lapua on 11th June.
